    Default Win. 52-D problem...

I'm new here gents, so please humor me.
I have a 52-D that was missing it's bolt. I've found a bolt from a 52-B, but it doesn't seem as it will work in the "D" action, and am looking for some advice on this. I have no manuals that cover any of the 52's so any & all advice, help, suggestions, etc. are appreciated.

    thanks !

Thanks, Popeye, that's more info than I had. The "Steve's Pages" info is for the new, repo guns made by Winchester & Browning, and doesn't apply to an original.
If I could talk to someone who owns a "D" model, I might come out ahead ! I really want to get this rifle back in operation. As it is, the "B" bolt won't go into the "D" action.

Winchester's Model 52 bolt is a two piece bolt and must be aligned correctly to properly fit into the receiver. Also, the trigger must be pressed forward while the bolt is being inserted.

The gent that was working with me on this has an old 52, and we were able to remove & re-install the "B" bolt in the "B" action with no problems. It seems that there is a substantial difference in the "D" model single-shot bolt, even thou every reference I've seen calls out for the same part # for the bolt body. It seems that more research is due on my part.....or better reference material !

You might try contacting the gunsmiths at the CMP: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] I believe they were selling M52Ds a while back.

How long has it been since you had a Mod 52 question?
