    Default The Mossberg 380 rifle project

    Another month, another refinished gun. This one is a Mossberg model 380 semi-auto .22 rifle. Someone had spilled or exposed the rifle to a chemical that caused some localized corrosion.
    Anyway, I removed the pits and polished the metal before rebluing it via the hot salts method.

    Very nice. I’d like to do some of this stuff once I retire. You must be building a nice collection of refinished work to add to your collection.

    That soft luster blue is always a job worth doing. It looks great. I agree with Popeye that receiver couldn't have been fun to polish.
