Interesting looking new pistol coming out early 2012. Can't wait to check this one out.

    It's different.

It's also expensive for a derringer.

Recoil is going to be - uh - "brisk". (14 ounces and 5/8ths of an inch wide: how about brutal?) Sights are rather basic and coupled with a double action - 10 pound advertised - trigger indicates this pistol is for close range only.

It is small enough to go into a trouser pocket. Much like my five shooter Chief's Special revolver. It looks like another solution in search of a problem. But it's 'tactical'; they kept saying that. And it's 'state of the art'; another rather over used and meaningless term.

At least it's made in the U. S. I like that part.

Maybe with all of that barrel porting the recoil migfht not be so bad.

We discussed this firearm on one of the local CT boards few weeks ago....I don't know about this firearm. The only thing that seems interesting is their trigger system imo. Is all that porting on a 3" barrel really nessary? Guess the 45acp fans will like it, but I'm not sold on it yet. Might as well just carry a LCP and have more rounds and still lighter. Heck the PF9 is 12oz unloaded and you have 7 rounds of 9mm. Even a derringer (Bond Arms - even though they are around 20oz) in 45acp would be better imo. He says they have an Aluminum in 12oz, but seems companies forget about weight playing a factor for controllability. And they want the title of lightest, smallest, but biggest cartridge shooting pistol there is. Or just the smallest and lightest in most cases, while sacrificing quality. There is a manufacture out there that every 150 rounds you need to replace the recoil spring just for the title of smallest and lightest....and the most expensive in its class lol. At least that's how I see now a days.

I like how he goes and says .."...it carries two spare rounds in the butt plate so you can do a tactical reload..." ....

The wife just looked at it, and I have to say that she knows at first glance as much as anyone. It is different, it will hurt to shoot, and if you don't stop the threat, it costs over $400 per round to die, you are not going to have time to reload when the threat is close enough to use it.

I say that it is still just another Derringer with a big price tag.

You can have it, derringers have way too much muzzle blast/flip for me...

I too think the price will be a major problem for them.

Lots of competition in pocket pistols out there today. The PF-9 or Ruger 9mm would be a better choice for me.
