A lot of opinion in that article and not much fact.

50BMG's aren't even relevant from a ballistic or accuracy stand point at ELR distances comparatively speaking. From a machine gun platform and as anti material stoppers like they were designed to do, the 50bmg is awesome. And they obviously work well on soft targets, then again a 700gr bullet out of anything is going to work well on tissue.

The 416 Barret and 375 Cheytac are the kings of ELR cartridges.

Generally only top tier/elite units get these^^^.

The 300wm with the 190gr SMK's just give the shooter more wind bucking capability (significant) and extended range over the 308win.

The 6.5 Creedmoor is a good round with lots of marketing and factory support behind it. It is nothing special from a ballistic or accuracy stand point. The 260rem, 6.5x47L, 6.5x284 do everything a Creedmoor does and in some cases slightly better. The fan boys will be fan boys.

It has a lot of fluff, I'm sure that there are better articles on it floating around. This just came across my google feed so I decided I'd post it here.

Sig are certainly doing well for themselves. Lots of contracts for a State with two Democratic Senators.

The rumor mill has it Sig will get investigated.....first the handgun contract and now the ammo contract...we all know how contracts and rumors work.

That said, the ammo plant is located in my home state of Arkansas and we are fortunate to have it....We have two Rep. Senators Tom Cotton and John Boozman.
