Quote: Rifles like the SKS and Mini-14 will be there for sure.
NO, not the mini 14! It's just a simple rifle with no silly appendages sticking out everywhere.
For one thing if there ever was to be national ban on such firearms, let it be known they for sure will not forgt the Mini and the SKS this time.

the 1st AWB after amendment, after amendment, after amendment resulted in a strict definition or points system on the rifles.......a bayonet lug as an example.....flash hider, etc.......
they may try to "get it right" this time for a true ban.......but the politics will still come into play.....and the definition will be narrowed again to include a point system to be included.....less they want another backlash.
i strongly suspect another mag capacity ban and the universal background check as being the most probable actions.
it is less expensive than a buy-back, and making it a federal crime to use a high capacity mag in any crime will drive the mags underground and into storage for a rainy day......
suddenly an armed robbery with a glock 19 with a 15 rd mag can get you an automatic 50 years under federal law......
I'd say the lower end AR15s are cheap enough. Get a low priced rifle, if it is satisfactory to your needs. 400$ or so, on the off chance they are confiscated, so be it. It's just one gun.
Have you checked the prices of SKSs, and Garands, lately ? It's not like the old days, when they were 80$ apiece, from a general store rain barrel. The milsurps are running
650$ to 800$ for half beat units. And as stated previously, they could be swept up in a ban, also.
someone needs to invent a bolt action upper that will fit an ar15 lower......heck, i do not know if that is even possible without mods to the lower........
