    Default What's your favorite lube?

I'm looking to try different gun lubes, looking for something that keeps things running smooth and lasts a good period of time once applied. I heard some good things about synthetic motor oil, but upon further research wasn't so sure.

Mobil 1 ATF and a whole lot of industrial products do a good job

When I used to change the oil on my vehicles myself, as I poured new oil into the vehicle I would turn the empty oil can/jug upside down in a funnel in one of the empties. Over time I collected a couple of jugs of mixed motor oil. I doubt I will ever run out using it a drop at a time.

For a while I was using a product called "Slick 50". A light coating of that stuff went a long way. I never noticed any ill effects from using it.

I can't recall a firearm failing to run with a bad oil , maybe too thick of a grease. Winter cold lately seems a bit colder, and lasts longer in the season. That thickens a lot of passable petroleum products.

A SIG armorer /Gunsmith..Robert Bruce , recommends "SuperLube" oil & grease. (Overriding what SIG supplies with their firearms. SuperLube is fully synthetic. GM relables the same stuff as AC Delco synthetic , in an aerosol can.

PTFE in the S.L. blend is trademarked as SYNCOLON. Milky clear in color, stays put for the most part, doesn't evaporate out, It passes tests as much more slippery, than many other brand names.
(rub some between your fingers, comparing to something else on the other hands fingers)

I am with Popeye on this. Due to his recommendation about a year ago I changed to Mobile 1 Synthetic. It Works fine and is much less expensive. A guy at work vapes and the stuff that goes into his device comes in little bottles with what looks like an un-sharpened hypodermic needle for a spout. I asked him to save a couple for me. After a good cleaning out I filled them with Mobile 1. Instant and free precision oilier.

SuperLube is also recommended for lubing MEC shotshell press colletts as well as the gaskets on my pool filters canisters; haven't tried it on guns yet. When I used a grease, I tend to use the red Shooter's Choice in the syringe; otherwise Hoppes, or any gun oil works on slide rails

Slip 2000 EWL & EWG. Superb products in my opinion. Mobile 1 synthetic is more cost effective and is also a great lube.

Synthetic oil here too. Used to use 3 in 1 oil. Cheaper to buy a quart of mobil 1.
