M-16 Best IWB Holster That Prevents Holster Wear

I recently purchased a Glock 23, and yes because anyone says it, I know the glock isn't a pretty gun. That being said, I still don't want it scuffed all to hell. I'm in the process of getting my CC and I'm,looking for a good, NOT EXPENSIVE, iwb holster that won't scuff my weapon or cause it to rust like leather can.

    First off welcome.

The Glock is a gun that is very hard to scratch or mark up. I think you will find that comfort is going to be more important. That being said Any good Kydex holster will protect the gun.

There are several types of holsters for IWB and you will have some considerations in different choices.

    1) Hybrid style holsters.- Made more to distribute the weight evenly and will lock the gun in place very well.

Choices in this are ALIEN GEAR or White Hat holsters which are site sponsors as well as Crossbreed which is the creator of them. There are several others making this style but honestly it is hard to beat the ALIEN GEAR price and value.

    2) What I am calling the minimallistic style holters. These are newer in there designs and I have found them to be a lot less bulky which makes them more comfortable.

PJ holsters is one and is the one I use. There are others startin with these and they seem to be catching on very quickly. I love my PJ holster.

You can go one of those cheap uncle mikes IWB holsters but be forewarned they don't have the best retention if you happen to be doing a lot of bending or sitting and getting up. I use one but i find myself having to push it down occasionally. Not sure of the material but they are very soft black material and wont damage your gun. Again think about the retention before buying.

Have found the holsters by Alien Gear to be excellent FUW the Glock. My favorite IWB holster is the Comp-tac Minotaur, the most comfortable of all the hybrid IWB holsters I've used.

Someone told me I should try this thing called a "sticky holster". Do any of you know anything about it?

I have a sticky. I love it but only for certain situations. 1, I would not carry a gun the size of a Glock 23 in it. I carry a Ruger lcp in it. I only use it when I am wearing gym shorts and it does work for that. For everyday carry, all day you will need a more stable sturdy holster. It took me forever to get to trust it as well. there is nothing holding it in place other than sticking to your skin.

For a primary carry holster get a good holster. You will be like everyone else here and have a drawer full of holsters. The reason for that is there are different situations you have to carry under and different holster work in different situations. When you find a good one then you will find yourself wearing it most often. I carry my PJ holster almost exclusively now.

I have tried a lot of iwb holsters. I use a sticky holster if I don't do a lot of bending over. I carry a ruger lc380 and use pocket holsters when I wear shorts, which is almost all the time. The best iwb holster (IMHO) is the versa carry. I has no bulk, just like you stuck the gun in your waist band. I wear it whenever I don't have to worry about sweat getting on the gun.

it is what it is..........expect some wear and tear. With any holster you will get some areas where the gun finish will either thin out a bit or "polish".....especially around the edges and the muzzle..........

some gun finishes are more poor than others......my understanding is the glock has one of the better finishes out there. Not to look pretty but to be functional.

the best way to prevent rust is preventive maintenance........keep your guns wiped down daily......do not leave them in any holster 24/7.
