    Default Glock 19 gen 3 vs. CZ75 P07 Duty vs. ?

Hi, new member here. I only registered here to ask for honest and objective opinions before making a purchase of my first handgun. I would like a 9mm semi auto handgun, and i do not want a sub compact, and so far have narrowed my options down to these two firearms. I have heard nothing but raving reviews about Glocks from incident free reliability to great customer service and easily available parts. I have however heard that late g19 3rd gen and 4th gen had issues with FTE or stove piping. Also brass oozing out of gun and hitting the shooter in the face. Does this happen often or are people just getting "bad Glocks"? Is it any easy fix with a lighter spring? I have found one locally never fired in box with an extra 15 rd mag for 550. Is that a good deal? Also the CZ75 p07 duty has caught my eye for its high capacity, great reviews, sweet price, and honestly I think it looks a heck of a lot cooler than a glock. But is it worth it? I can get one new for 470. Good deal? Finally if anyone has owned either of these or both of these or has any experience with them and knows of another semi auto 9mm at around 500$ price range that I should look into please let me know. Thanks alot

Gen 4 glocks have a recoil spring recall not a big deal. I will say that all of my glocks have hit me with brass at some point its gonna happen. However if I had one that did it really bad I'd send it in. Glock stands behind their guns. The cz is a good gun just not as mass produced. Parts and accessories are far more available for glocks over pretty much any other handgun. I'd also recommend the s&w m&p line and do yourself a favor and look at the ruger sr9.

Looking into the sr9 now and liking what I see. The gun has great reviews and it looks thinner than the g19. I will have to shoot it! Another one of my concerspns is accuracy. I like to hit what I am aiming at. Any ideas for most accurate 9mm?

Accuracy for the most part is from the shooter not the gun. The SR series have a really nice trigger. Personally I'm a glock fan but a good gun is a good gun.

I would consider myself a great shot. I am troubled by hearing things like if they all hit paper from 20 yards it's good. That's not good to me.

If I hit the target, I am happy. If I hit the bullseye, I am happier. If I cluster where I tried to cluster, I am extremely happy.

What do you consider to be a GREAT shot and what wold make it good for you? WHat do you currently shoot? Curious.....

BTW, I love my XDM 9mm Compact.

I have shot alot of rifles and shotguns growing up but not as many handguns. Recently I went shooting at a buddies private range and he had all sorts of guns from mossberg and stoeger 12 ga's, .270, .300, a Ruger lc9 and a Springfield XD acp. It was quite a treat. To get to the point, I was really impressed with the lc9 accuracy. I was able to hit a coke can several times from 50 yards. I hated the trigger pull it was way too long in my opinion and the grip is so short my hand hung off awkwardly, it just didnt feel good to me. I didn't shoot the .45 from any further than 25 yards but I was the only one of the three off us able to hit a coke can from 25 yards. I loved the springfield just wasn't too impressed with the accuracy. I also don't want to pay for.45 acp ammo, as I plan on shooting thousands of rounds through my first handgun. I know I don't want a sub compact because I have big hands, and I like how a glock feels because i have held them but never fired them. My real love lies with 1911's, specifically was looking at a RIA tactical .45acp, but I have heard 1911's are high maintenance and bulky for ccw and just aren't as practical or safe and that's the main goal for my first handgun. Reliable, doesnt have known issues that i have to swap parts to use, life time warranty, accurate, and not over 550$. I really appreciate all of the input, I don't have a thousand dollars to go to the range and rent every handgun they have I am relying on honest reviews from people like you and i acknowledge the time taken from your day to assist.
