Well. The end of the deer season is upon us, so with only a few tags left to fill I decided to do a little handgun hunting with my buddy's .50 GI.
It is really overpriced, really really overpriced. But after shooting a hundred and thirty pound doe I cant argue with the terminal ballistics of its all copper round.
I wish I woulda kept the lungs for pictures, but I tossed em when I dressed her in the field.
I did however recover the bullet, and it preformed perfectly.
It was a simple ten yard shot. The doe must of wanted to die. Perfect broad side shot, But I missed her heart. She hardly ran thirty or so yards before she dropped. And when I was digging around in her right lung I hardly had to push my finger through the channel.
I measured the expanded bullet at more than an inch.
Here it is all cleaned up.
