No doubt my Harley metaphor didn't fit, and rightfully so. Many Harley owners think Harley is the only real bike, despite the numerous reasons a Honda is "better". The rain that has kept me away from the range has now turned to snow. Could anyone out there that owns a BDE 40 comment on reliability, accuracy? I know, I'm sounding like an anxious kid..which is fine with me at 65, lol. Thanks, for your patience.

I have fired the .40 BDE, and I was impressed with it. It felt comfortable, handled great, and was very accurate. Watch out for the ejecting shells, though. They launch a mile! Lol

I like my Glock 17 gen 3, it goes bang everytime which is why i use it as my self defense piece, that being said I like the springfield xd and s & w mp lines better..... I want a s&w shield so bad.... o well the gun store said I might get lucky and find a .40 but the chances of me finding it in a 9mm in the next 6 months are very low, they sure know how to bash someones hopes :(

Sorry about your luck but I just needed to brag a little! I got the Shield yesterday :).. I gave up myself and went to purchase a Sig p290 and low and behold.. There's a shield sitting there.. I couldn't quit smiling for a bit..

Guess someone has to stand up for Glock. :) I have been shooting Glocks since 1988. I started using them precisely because of the grip size and angle. Fit my hand really well and one of the most accurate stock pistols I had ever shot at the time. I still own my very first Glock 17 and have put probably around 20,000+ rnds through it. It's always been very reliable. Fired everything in it from reloads and an assortment of imported ammo all the way up to Israeli 158 grain blue tip ammo. Eats it all like candy.

I'm sorry it didn't work out well for you. Hope the new pistol does better. But like they say, not every gun is for everyone.
