I'd TRY JB Weld epoxy first, just using it to "build up" the sight, then shape the epoxy with a file. darken it with magic marker ink, or model airplane black "dope", or black spray paint.

I have a 290 parts gun. How do you take the front sight off? I don't see a screw, so it must be under the dovetailed front sight.
I don't want to drive the sight out of the dovetail to look. But if you know this to be the case, I will drive the sight out of the dovetail,
take the sight base off, and send you the parts.

Judging by what you replied, yours may be the stock item, or just like mine. I'll drive the sight out of the dovetail this weekend and see, or I can post you a pic of it.

Either way, if that is how it comes off, I will mail it to you.
