Default Looking for info on this revolver

This is a 9 shot .22 revolver. It was made by "Western Auto". Judging from the model number H.S. 130-00 I am assuming that High Standard made it for Western Auto. It says "Revelation" Model 99 on the left side of the barrel.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this gun like approx date of manufacture and stuff.

    Thanks fro any help!

That looks an awful lot like a High Standard Sentinel with adjustable sights and a bobbed hammer added. If so, date of manufacture, most likely, would be in the 1960s.

    Is its frame aluminum?

It is a friends revolver. He just bought it and he said he has been looking for one like this for many years since it is identical to the one his father had that he learned to shoot with. I believe he paid about $300 for it. He said he would gladly have given twice that amount though.

I can't remember if the frame was aluminum. I only had a few moments with the gun. I told him that I would post it and try to find out more info since there are some gurus here!

Sorry BB, I suppose you guessed it isn't for sale. You should see him though. He is VERY excited.

The hammer is actually full sized and color case hardened. Its kinda though to see in the pic I took.

That is for certain a High Standard-made revolver. Very nice. I've always liked the grip angle on the High Standard revolvers.

I would hazard a guess that the price he paid was high, but as always, value is in the eye of the buyer!

Yes, I would have been a player for the gun. I am constantly on the lookout for .22 handguns (and rifles) that are "different". If it is a gun I don't have it really makes no difference to me what the gun is actually worth. If I am comfortable with the price and want the gun, it has a new home....

I like to think I am a collector of sorts but if they were cats and dogs instead of guns I would be labeled a Hoarder!

That is the difference between cat hoarders and gun collectors.

The 'cat lady' gets gently taken to 'the home'.

The 'gun guy' gets drug off by the SWAT team and never heard from again.
I'm not really a professional gunfighter, but I used to play one in reality.

I have one of these Western Auto 9 shot .22 LR revolvers. I believe it is made of pot metal, which was used in cheap car bumpers and auto trim. It is made by Hi-Standard for Western Auto under a private label.
