Default Had a question about Barrett M82 box mags. Found this forum. Hope to find an answer.

Hi, first post! A little about me. I'm a fairly new collector of C&R firearms and all around gun enthusiast.
So, the back story and question.

For a retirement gift to myself, I always wanted a semi auto 50 BMG, came across very well priced Serbu BFG 50A, and was lucky enough to acquire it. So far it's been an amazing rifle, although expensive to feed. It came with one 10 round mag. I wanted another and found a used one for sale on GunBroker for $75. half price, so took a chance. When I receved it, it was in well used shape. Anyway, went to put it in the foam cut-out in the hard case and it was to big. Come to find out it's a 12 round mag, not 10?

I have never ever heard of a 12 round Barrett mag. Did some looking on google and found very little except they are rare and were made for desert storm.

Anyone have any info about these?

    Thanks!

Just what you have found. Limited production in 1991.
Original prototype during development stages believed to have used 11 round mag. There are even 20 round out there.
