That's the Gunsight Pass herd. The Meadow Peak herd comes down to our place too and it's a much larger herd. There's a lot of racket here during bow season. The bulls seem to holler all day long.

I had over 2000 head cross the meadow below the house last winter. I don't shoot these I go 7 miles down the road. It never takes more than one day to fill a tag. I use a land owners permit so no real problems to deal with. I always take a dry cow or a big yearling. We prefer to sell cattle and eat elk. Cattle have a gamey taste.

    OMG!!

I walked the friggin Mountains of Eastern Oregon for a solid week looking for ELK and or Mule Deer. Never saw one ELK but over 35 deer. Was bow hunting and could not get close enough for a good safe shot.

Can we come up and hunt with you folks?????
