    Default Bad Ammo?

I have a box of Remington .22lr and all the bullets seem to be loose from the casing. Some only slightly, while others you can spin in a full circle in the casing. I don't notice any powder leaking out. Is this ammo safe?

Maybe I just never noticed because I have never purchased a 550 round box?

I have only ever used CCI .22 ammo before.

For some reason, .22LR ammo does that quite readily. I've shot boxes of it with no ill effects. You should be okay with it.

All 22 rimfire, with the exception of 22WRF ( Winchester Rim Fire) and 22 WMR (winchester magnum rimfire) are heeled bullets, the bullet is the same diameter as the case , so in order to hold the bullet in the case the case is crimped around the very end of the bullet ,which is soft lead, this makes the bullet feel loose if you twist and push it,
so if you play with them too much and roll them around alot, this can affect the performance.
Rimfire primer compound needs all the help it can get to ignite the powder, so a good seal around the bullet heal is a must. Don't mess them around alot and you will be good to go.

Good point, enzelow. A little bit loose is okay. A whole lot of loose is probably not.
