Ditto, If I don't shoot it I won't own it. This one looks like one of the Presentation 1911's at the Ranger Museum at Ft Fisher Waco, Tx. They have some really incredible firearms that were once owned, and used by Rangers.

I'm the same way. Some i rarely shoot but they all hit the range occasionally. Even my wall hanger stevens single shot 12 gauge with a bad extractor had some rounds rounds through it this year. Just had to blow down the barrel to get the empties out.....They all get treated well too and cleaned when done. Well maybe the glock gets banged around a bit but who cares.

Being I'm on a limited budget I'm going to have to settle for just two each.

Damn that reminds me. My LGS took in a colt woodsman that has the original box and all paperwork and i think it cost $68 in 1948 if i remember right. It also had two boxes of original .22's that were bought with it and 20 rounds are missing. It looked like it was made just the other day. I took pics of it but then cleaned out my phone because it was full before i realized i didn't post the pics. They are trying to decide if they are keeping it or selling it....they collect guns as well.

I had a feeling that Singer Colt 1911 was going to go high. WOW !!

A Singer M1911A1 is my absolute dream gun. Unfortunately I'll never own one. I was a little surprised at what the gavel dropped at too.
I may someday be able to afford an early government issued 1911. I'd settle for that but dream about the Singer.

The Singer Mfg, plant is about an hour north of me. It still stands and is a mixed use industrial complex housing several tenants.

I would be happy with my post Korean war Ithaca 1911 .45acp. It was my first complete unaltered pistol 1957.

A friend of mine had an 8ga. SxS Elsie that I often took dove hunting. Impressed the hell out of the city boys. Of course we had to keep it locked up until after the game warden checked our guns. It really was not that much fun to shoot even before I became a delicate antique.

I'd like to know how they were able to hit a bullet with another projectile with such precision.

Henri, Gustave Delvigne, Paris 1799 - 1876, started 1828 trials pistols with small caliber rifled bores.

A very early pistol in caliber .35 percussion with rifled bore, 3ÂĽ" round grayish barrel with dovetail front sight and inscription INVon DELVIGNE A PARIS, highly decorated hard rubber grips, the loading gate with a face of a monster, clean and not abused, percussion cap. Interestingly the pistol is cocked with the bar under the barrel by pulling it backwards, and in the grip is a massive ramrod.
