Ive been working on building a shooting range in my backyard this summer, and I just wanted to share it. I own 7 acres in a quiet country town called scotland in CT. I have a big deck on the back of my house, which gives me a perfect shooting platform to shoot at my targets that range from 50 to 110 yards from the deck.
Heres the start of the range from the end of my driveway into the yard, which is about 50 yards to the hill. All the orange ones are for .22/.17 only, the white ones are for any handguns and smaller, and the yellow one is an 8" 500 brinell circle that I can shoot with anything including my .308 and .223. I really want more of those!
The white circle in the back is a 30" steel circle that I call my gong.
Heres a closeup of the 500 brinell plate after a 3 shot group with the .308 at 110 yards.
Here are my handgun targets, 5 steel circles of half inch steel.
