    Default Protective Finish

I bought my Ruger 9E a couple months ago and I use a BLACKHAWK! serpa 2 holster. Problem I've found it the matte black finish on my gun wears off. I've heard of a product called Cerakote. If I spelled that right. Anyone know anything about this product?

The difference between a Socialist and a Communist is that the Socialist doesn't have all the guns yet.

Basically it's a ceramic coating like the one applied in non stick skillet. very tough but like anything else it has it's limits. Dragging your gun behind your pick-up on a gravel road at 50Mph, not recommended

Don't take this the wrong way, but the hard surface of the holster will do this,

depending on the finish on the pistol. You may want to consider a leather

holster, and you may still have wear and tear on your finish. Sorry...

So no matter what you do you'll end up having the finish redone eventually. For right now my holster serves me well. I can't conceal carry yet because of age. But when I can I was planning on a different holster. Do they make a leather holster that has a latching feature like the holster I have now?
