9 minutes and 30 seconds of poorly thought out and badly produced opinion. I lasted 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

First gun? A .22 LR rifle. Learn to shoot first. Then branch out to other types of firearms and calibers.

Shorten your videos. Cut out all extraneous BS. Practice talking without 'ers' and 'ums'. Get your thoughts in order before filming. Write a script and follow it. Study lighting while filming (lighten up your background). Change your background from time to time.

Popeye pretty much nailed it though i will debate on a .22lr as a first gun, My view is of it is the first time you have ever handled a gun is to learn on a small low power BB gun, Super easy to control and can teach you the very very basics of gun handleing aiming ect and if you do screw up its a LOT less likely to kill either your self or someone else then even a .22 will be because make no mistakes ANY powder based gun can and will kill if mishandled even a BB can kill if you hit exactly the right spot.

I would also recomend you go to a gun safety class before you ever handle a gun then take hunters safety right after you do buy one so you will be at least aware of the right way to handle it.

That said my first gun was a 9mm pistol and my first rifle was a 7mm rem mag coming out of an anti gun family with exactly ZERO knowledge of the damn things so.....i dont have much ground to stand on.

I started out and my boys started out with sling shots, although at one time there was a different name for them. Then we graduated to BB guns once the concept of projectiles, windage and elevation were entrenched. Then to pellet guns and finally to 22 lr. There's a lot of learning that goes on between sling shot and 22.

    Since you are asking, either:

--Ruger 10/22 takedown, if portability is important

    --Marlin 60

--The Henry Lever in 22-(IIRC a "Henry 002")

    .22's? I would recommend a Ruger M77 chambered in a 416 Rigby.......ok maybe something a little smaller.

BB gun/air rifle first. You don't need a permit, and you can practice in your basement, if you have one. Get good, before you get something more dangerous or deadly.

Also, rifle first, then pistol. If you can't get good with a rifle, stop there.

I agree with .22. All you others nailed it. For starters this guy watches to many
movies. Zombies, Really? Anyone who recommends an assault rifle for their
first gun is a video gamer that shoots zombies, and knows nothing about guns
in real life. But I didn't last long either, I only made it to about 2 mins.
This guy has no clue about guns.

    I still have the first 22 I shot when I was 5. It's a Marlin 989
