    Default Scope for 17HMR Henry

Have you got any suggestions on a scope for my new Henry Golden Boy. I know it won't make the rifle more attractive but I have some sight issues and need a scope to shoot accurately. Thanks.

I have a Marlin XT 17HMR with a Nikon Pro staff 3-9x40 . Works Rather well. They make different sizes but you can take your pick . Redfield makes some nice scopes to in the under $200 dollar range

Srt 10 Jimbo, thanks for the reply to my question. I just ordered the Nikon Pro Staff scope you suggested. I bought the one that is recommended for Rimfire that has the BDC Reticle in a 3X9X40. Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to enjoy ity.

    Default Scope for 17HMR Henry

Yep, it will be my second. As a senior I can longer tell the difference between the Nikon and and the dozens of Zeiss and Sworovski scopes and bino's I've got around here. Thanks again!

You have to buy a cantilever mount from Henry to scope a Golden boy or Big Boy. I know iron sights are hopeless at the ranges a 17HMR reaches for anyone over 45 but putting a scope on a lever gun is like bringing a streetwalker into church with you.........

Hehe CMonster, I'll keep you in mind.

CK, it just don't seem right putting flat balck on top of the brass. I just can't use iron sights anymore. My multilevel bifocals just won't adjust. I don't like the idea of the cantilevered mount either. Just seems unstable. Oh well, you play the hand delt you.

S 10 J Your Marlin looks great. I have that gun in 45/70. I'm scared to shoot it. Been through a wreck but never been shot. Does the muzzle brake help the recoil a lot?

Dont kick to bad with the 325gr Hornady's. Buffalo Bore 405gr is a little different
