Default Ok..figured out this old handgun from my father is a Ruby,

but cannot figure out if its one of the cheap knock-offs or one of the better ones. Searched every symbol I could find on the net but Im still coming up empty. Could someone with some far better knowledge help? The barrell has an AA under a crown stamped on it. The slide has what looks like a backwards dragon (maybe lion) with a little snake tongue and a tail. The base of the gun right under the slide has the same symbol, A crown with a shield and the letter X inside the shield and the letters p.v. I was able to take the barrel off but couldn't get the slide off. So, I don't know if their are more stamps internally on the gun. I'm think of putting a few dollars into the gun to clean it up and give it back to dad if its worth it. Thank you for any comments in advance....

    Yup. Pictures.

However--let's do a little guessing. Crown over AA (is there a C under the AA?) could be the trademark of Azana y Arrizabalaga of Eibar Spain.

Crown over Shield with an X in it---Good chance that's the Spanish Admission mark (Eibar) 1929-31.

Semi auto in 7.65 (32 ACP)???? My GUESS--and that's all it is without pictures---is a "Ruby" pistol.

Nah--although I would like to run across a colt like that at a affordable price.

I was thinking more along the lines of the French/Spanish Ruby pistol made from the teens through the 30's.
Hopefully the OP will be along with some pics---

Those pics look like the 1914 "Liberty pistol I own. Shoots 7.65 mm (.32 acp) and it runs pretty good actually
