Can't tell you how many times I've watched this:

Its a comparison between Glock, Xd, and M&P, maybe it can help you make a decision.

EDIT: Seems that everyone who has ever shot or owned any number or variants of these pistols says the same thing; you have to pick each one up, fire them if you can and decide for yourself because they are so close in nearly every aspect.

I like the Glock 19 much more for a few reasons. One is its much simpler and not a lot to it. The XD is a good pistol but its just a Glock copy imo with more "features" add to it. Here is a video review from nutnfancy on the XD9 but not the compact XD9 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Probably the best reason to buy a gun in my opinion. I choose a Armscor MAPP1 MS compact over a Glock 19 based on how it felt in my hand. Now that I've owned it a while I don't regret my decision at all as it shoots great and has fired everything I have put in it. A bit harder to find any thing for it but this is my personal carry gun which I prefer to be factory stock and factory ammo in. Nothing modified for me in the personal carry area.

All three are reliable good quality pistols. The Glock has been around the longest and has that reputation for reliability that is hard to beat.

I too like the grip on the XD and find the XD-M models very accurate. But I like the looks of the S&W M&P the best, but have never had the pleasure of shooting one.

I own the glocks and can vouch for their reliability!

Good luck with your decision, it is a personal one based on which pistol you shoot the best, feels the best and the one you think looks cool.

$500 is a fair price for an XD9 subcompact.

I love my XD-9mm! Ive fired 5-600 rounds through it, and the only couple issues I had were ammo issues. I personally cant stand how glocks feel in my hands, so will probably never own one just because of that reason.
If you know how many guns you have, you dont have enough!!

Gun control is being able to hit your target, over and over!

If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.
