Sadly I fear the boys will not be trained by any other family member. 'Dad' learned how to be stupid someplace. Wanna bet he lets one or both of the boys get knocked on their ass by the .30/30. From the stories narrative Dad strikes me as that sort of stupid. Don't try to tell me anything I already know it all.

House Rules always need to be observed. Last week I had my rhino at our local indoor range here in Key West (actually about 6 miles out of Key West) and a guy noticed the case as I was leaving. He asked if he could take a look at it as he was thinking abut buying one. I was off the range and in the gun store at this point. I asked the store/range owner if it was OK to take the gun out of my case, put the closed case on the counter and asked the owner if he wanted to open it and verify the gun was unloaded before anyone handled it. He told me he didn't need to look at it but at the same time he was appreciative that I asked respecting his store. His house, his rules. Pretty simple concept. A little respect will go a long way.

I've seen a few instances here in Kalifornia at Lytle Creek Canyon range where the rule for semi-auto rifles is no simulated "rapid, machine-gun firing" or the shooter will be directed to leave, and the "guys" save their last magazine just for that demonstration of rapid fire. They and the Range Officers all have smiles as the shooters peaceably depart for the day.

You may call me paranoid but I always carry an under armor ballistic vest when entering the range. There has been a gun boom in our country about 1 year ago (when all the invaders invaded our country and Germany for getting social benefit) which caused confusion and fear amongst many of our citizens. So they all armed and trained at the range. Unfortunately there were some guys who should never be allowed to own a firearm - the worst example was a guy standing behind our shooting instructor working the slide so that any of us could hear it. The instructor turned around, asked him, what he was doing and told him to unload his pistol immediately and leave the range. Or another guy who turned to the instructor with his Glock pointing at his stomach asking him "I think my weapon has got loading inhibition, have a look !"

I felt very bad for the kids. They were just listening to what their Father told them to do. In thier minds they did nothing wrong. Can't fault the children because Dad is an ass.

We have an un-manned public range in the Ocala National Forest. We always go in groups. When the range is cold, someone always says at the firing line to watch the others backs.

One time during a cold range period some clown starts screwing with his gun. I politely pointed out the gentleman that the range was cold and he was not to handle any firearms during that time. He started to mouth off until I told him I'd make a deal with. He could handle his guns while the range was cold as long as he understood that I was going to play with MY guns while he was down range. For some reason he did not want to play that game.

I was walking back from examining my target on a cold range and was about 75 yards out when a guy opened fire with me downrange. I yelled and he started looking around and examining the roof of the firing line shelter like it wasn't him. Never extended so much as an apology to me...left my target setup downrange and left.

How is the Range at Ocala National Forrest? My Parents live in The Villages and I just bought a house in Silver Springs Shores? I have wanted to check that Range out for a while.

How long is the longest distance?

Yep this is what happens when something terrible (or so peoples think in the case of President Trump) happens. Peoples who usually feared guns are rushing to buy one for protection, cause they understand the need but never got rid of their fear or bothered to learn about them. But now they have one and it makes those peoples very dangerous.
I do understand German people's need to get guns, you guys are our window 5 years into the future and I already got guns. but yeah some peoples should stay behind one who's got one instead.
I WILL DO WHAT I HAVE TO AND DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY ACTIONS LATER
