fingerprint problem in Fla

So I live in NJ. I could not get the local police to take my fingerprints, they said the state won’t let them do it for a gun related activity. I want a carry permit. So I hopped on a plane and flew to Florida to apply for a Florida carry permit. Everything went well I thought, I was only in the Dept. of Agriculture for about 20 minutes. A nice lady checked my paperwork (I'm a vet), she filled out the forms for me, took my fingerprints and picture and told me to go home and I would here back in about 2 weeks. She was right, It is now 2 weeks later and I just got a notice (E Mail and postal) that my fingerprints were are, "not sufficiently legible". So now I am in the same situation as before, my state will not do the prints for me and I don't want to fly back to Florida for fingerprints. The prints must be done by a police dept. and they want them sent electronically. So any suggestions on what I should do.

After doing a short read of the "New Jersey Concealed Carry Permit Information" this paragraph in my opinion is essential:

Requirements:
The applicant must meet the requirements of the Permit to Purchase and FID, provide personal information, be fingerprinted, prove his familiarity with the use of handguns, have three reputable people knowing the person for at least three years and have a “justifiable need to carry a handgun.”

So down under in Austria where I live owners of firerams have got the possibility for making a contract for a legal weapon protection including free choice of a lawyer. The costs are about 100.- Maybe in the US you also have this possibility and your lawyer can force the police to take your fingerprints. Just a quick thought, if I am wrong sorry.

Here is the full Text of the New Jersey Concealed Carry Permit Information just in case you haven't already read it:

NJ is a "may issue" state.

in short. a private citizen is NOT getting a concealed carry permit in Jersey.
This is well document. NJ DOES NOT issue concealed carry permits despite having a process for applying.
also, once you're denied... and you WILL be denied. You must check YES on box 27 of your pistol permit application that reads ..." 27) Have you ever had a firearms purchaser identification card, permit to purchase a handgun, permit to carry a handgun or any other firearms license or application refused or revoked in New Jersey or any other state? If yes, explain."

Thus holding up your permit application while the denial is investigated.
Until the laws change its best not to even apply for in jersey unless you have very deep pockets to fight the denial in court.

Comon' man, give a guy a break. Live in NE but cannot get prints so hop on a plane to sunny Florida. Fills out paperwork, lady checks it out and takes the print and tells him to go home. Hops on another plane and bammo, 2 weeks after getting home, gets an email AND mail a denial because the prints were unreadable. I guess being a vet didn't help?

What is so strange about all that?

Meh, Its common for us folks that live in the left wing liberal democratically controlled state of NJ to get out of state concealed carry permits so when we visit the rest of normal America we can actually live like the other half does and protect ourselves.

It was very common years ago to get a Florida CCP but not so much now as PA stopped recognizing Florida's out of state carry permits in 2013.
Utah and Virginia have become the "go to" state for us poor New Jerseyans that just wanna be normal.

Also, the OP is correct the local PD's do not fingerprint you for anything other than arrest. If you're applying for something that requires fingerprinting (i.e. firearms ID card, alcoholic beverage license, hazmat license) they send you to a 3rd party like the one linked in post #3.

I'll take your word pardner, I dont follow recip as I dont instruct any longer. I never understood OP intentions really....keep in mind hard for me to wrap my head around some things....agencies required by law to print citizens...can charge no more $10. in law...so some do one card $10. ea, little jailers do two etc. ...before I stopped teaching...TX went ALL electronic prints...same reasons..quality of prints plus more direct data link to FBI...I didnt mention such an Electronic ID vendor cause somebody beat me...I got impression OP flew to FL to get nonresident carry?...NJ WONT accept FL non or resident carry anyway. I could not BELIEVE he flew to FL for two FBI carded set of prints. There HAS to be some security place in tri state area with LE letterhead authorizing prints....all thats needed? IF he wants to carry abroad...FL and VA non res obtainable by mail. Air trips for prints still throwing me.

Yes, I hope NATL recip carries...but be advised, you think some state AG's stopping Trump now...wait till that law passes...NJ, CA...etc...will have it held up overnight.....non carry states will fight changes same way TX would fight if NATL 5 day cooling off wait period enacted before Hgun pick up,
etc. I hope OP gets what he needs and you all get some relief.
EDIT:....and give me slack also...OP said state wont do gun related prints...but they have carry application process even though almost no one passes....OP said..." I want a carry permit "...he didnt say or add I want it for when in Other States traveling!

I " believe" you can still get nonresident license/card via mail/internet. Same as with some other states. And they are good in TX etc....one reason I quit...a TX guy can go on web...pay...no shooting...get carry permit as non res of THAT state...carry same as someone from my 10 hour +range class! We now have less quality 4 hour class to compete with such BS.

Yes sir...kinda mute...after some states take it to SCOTUS...if they uphold...yes, mute...if not...your back to wear Trump is now with having undeniable Constitution power per immigrant stopping...? CA WONT contact ICE now when bonding out a suspect rapist/dwi killer illegal allien...but they start honoring gun toters day Trump signs a law....I'll be watchin it with you is all I can say...

I kinda agree...if they keep buying from us. We're about only state owns our own grid. We sell LOT lectricity to them spinach pizza eaters...so they dont have to burn that nasty coal like we do, or have reactors like we do...or have budget SURPLUS...like we do...
some good friends in CA. , and from here like Popeye....might as well be on Mars...I caint help em. And if enough of them keep migratin to Austin like they have Denver, I'll be busy tryin to help us.

It seems that some of you are questioning why I would want a Fla. permit when I live in NJ. Well it happens that I travel to Fla 3 or 4 or 5 times a year. This last time was to meet my new grand daughter. Well that not withstanding, I don't understand why anyone on this forum would question why another man wants to carry.
Today I made some phone calls to PA LE's. After three calls, I struck pay dirt. I left home and went to a small town in PA and had my prints taken by a nice guy cop. My prints are already in the mail headed to Florida. He saw that I was a vet and said there was no charge. I still left the $20 as a contribution.

It only gets better.

Live in New Jersey and cannot get prints.
Fly to Florida get prints but when you get home, they said the prints are not readable.
Go to PA and gets prints and has them sent to Florida, who already took a set of bad prints.

Who's on first?

Love to hear how this story ends......

Sorry if some of us are a little skeptical. A lot of people come here and on their first post are looking for ways to skirt the law. I guess they think a gun forum is just a bunch of gun nuts finding every way we can to break the law. Hope everything works out for you.
