    Default Great Grandpa's Guns

I have two old guns. One is a Frank Wesson 1862 and the other I haven't a clue. The smaller one has a stamp M/71 on the barrel but not sure what it is. I've googled it and only come up with the WWII M/71. I believe this pre dates it. It is the smaller of the two rifles. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Trying to figure out how to load the pictures. I did an attachment I thought to that thread. Evidently it didn't work.

Those need to go to a qualified antique firearms appraiser.

Popeye's right----There is some serious monetary potential there.

Pics are not the greatest, but I'm going to take a guess on
    the smaller rifle. Quackenbush.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I will take them to a antique gun dealer and see what they have to say.

The quackenbush air rifle doesn't seem to have hammer for striking a primer from the pics I've looked at. The smaller rifle has a hammer.

I`ll say do some more research first..... This way your dealer wont try the old I`ll give you $290.00 for $8000.00 weapons....It is sad to state but yes their are those whom love sticking their fellow man......Case in point I have an old HSC WWII....With nazi insignias at a local gun show and a dealer resently I was offered no more than $275.00 I began to wonder If I should turn this gun into my office paperweight....Found out after extensive research close to a week tracking down all nazi symbols used.....$1200 to $1800 dollars for my NAVY issue HSC (which is a rare pistol) this was two different places and two different dealers...Now that I know the lousy $400.00 I was asking isn`t so bad.....Think I`m up to $800.00 now...I do understand that if purchased they have to make a profitt but come on a 500% mark up is just over kill....

That is why you look for an appraiser not a dealer.
