    Default Dubiel Rifle

I've added to my collection a Dubiel Rifle, bolt action 22 LR. Beautiful walnut stock, very heavy barrel. Can anyone tell me about this Dubiel Rifle? I know that John Dubiel built guns for Hoffman Arms in Ardmore, OK in the early 30s. Also know that Dubiel Arms operated in Sherman, Texas in the late 70s. Greatly appreciate any information you may have.

    Greetings and Salutations

The DuBiel Arms Company of Sherman, Texas produced extremely accurate center-fire rifles were available in standard calibers from .22-250 through .458 Win. Mag., as well as selected “wildcat” calibers. I have never heard of one chambered in .22 LR.

In the 1970s the DuBiel Arms Company created a new invention that went on to revolutionize centerfire bolt action technology in rifles.

They received a patent in 1979. It possessed both a receiver and bolt that have 4-5 locking lugs with equal spacing and width so as to produce maximum holding and restraining power. This 4-5 lug system would use a 36 degree bolt rotation, producing faster locking and cycling mechanisms.

They were in business from 1977 to 1989. During that time only 129 rifles were produced, including two prototypes.

The Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West has 18 DuBiel rifles.

    The NRA Museum has 9.

The difference between a Socialist and a Communist is that the Socialist doesn't have all the guns yet.

I wonder if there is any one out there in the gun world that might have some more info about this rifle. I have heard a old gun smith in Tyler Texas that might know something. I can send a photo if that would help. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
